I am privileged to have spiritual parents—Gary and Marilyn Hargrave—who are always bringing the scriptures alive and nurturing this fellowship of churches. They are a tremendous example of the love for the Word of God and of walking in it. My husband, too, is such an example of someone with a hunger and love for the Word; it is absolutely part of who he is. He lives in it day and night!
My prayer is for this love for the Word to burn in each one of our hearts. As we see examples of faith around us, let’s imitate it (Hebrews 13:7)! I found a great Scripture about this in The Message Bible.
“Your words are so choice, so tasty;
I prefer them to the best home cooking.
With your instruction, I understand life;
that’s why I hate false propaganda.By your words I can see where I’m going;
they throw a beam of light on my dark path.
I’ve committed myself and I’ll never turn back
from living by your righteous order.” (Psalm 119)
Lord, let this love be rooted in my heart so that all I say is coming from Your Word. I commit to speak the Word in faith. In Jesus Christ, that is where true life comes from.
What would happen if I only voiced the creative word of God in faith and not the negativity of what I see and hear around me? I am willing to try, are you?
