Life Skills Workshops
We will be teaching a series of Life Skill classes at Hale O Kāula for the few next months. We hope that this will empower the students to take more responsibility for their health, finances, and daily living.
Our purpose is to share ways to make everyday items we use in our homes and for personal care which are simple, non-toxic, healthy and cost pennies on the dollar...and are just plain fun!
We also want to give our young people a foundation for eating well, enjoying the process of shopping for food, cooking and eating a meal they have prepared themselves. We want to show them that taking the time to make a meal for themselves and others is more economical, healthier and creates relationships.
Classes will be held once a month on Saturday afternoons from 3:00pm to 5:00 pm. Classes at this time are scheduled on 6/12/10, 7/24/10 and 8/21/10.
The first class on 6/12/10 will be: “How To Cook A Chicken." Tyua Sereda will demonstrate how to prepare and roast a whole chicken and there will be class handouts of several recipes for using the cooked chicken.
No enrollment is necessary. Simply come on the day and time for the classes and enjoy learning!
Our teachers are: Jamie Fry, Jacki Poulson, Joy White, Tyua Sereda.
