I think of myself as being really blessed by having the privilege of meeting John Robert Stevens, and being around people that he created. It is amazing to me how many people have been touched by the Word he spoke and his ministry. Of course, I was living in another country and did not spend much time around him, but my parents were always in contact with him, and even had him stay in our house in Brazil several times.

I am privileged to have spiritual parents—Gary and Marilyn Hargrave—who are always bringing the scriptures alive and nurturing this fellowship of churches. They are a tremendous example of the love for the Word of God and of walking in it. My prayer is for this love for the Word to burn in each one of our hearts. As we see examples of faith around us, let’s imitate it (Hebrews 13:7)!

Learning a second language has been a wonderful experience for me. Over the past two years I have lived in U.S., I’ve realized that it takes more than learning how to read and write in English, I have to be immersed into the language and culture. There are nuances of the language that you can only experience by really being immersed in it. Out of that immersion I have seen my fluency reach a proficiency level.

The word for “hearing” in the Greek and Hebrew also means “to obey.” Most of us need to repent of being hearers of God’s Word only.
