Even though the Feast of Tabernacles has ended, I was still thinking about the Israelites in the wilderness and how they would carry the Ark of the Covenant, which represented the very presence of God. On many occasions we see how the Ark was always in front of the people, they wanted the presence of God to lead them forward into every circumstance.

Be My Imitators, as I Am of Christ

“Be imitators of me. For this reason I have sent to you Timothy, who is my beloved and faithful child in the Lord, and he will remind you of my ways which are in Christ, just as I teach everywhere in every church.” I Corithians 4:16-17

When I read these verses I can feel the heart of the Apostle Paul and his fatherly love for the people at Corinth. He was revealing his heart and giving them an example to follow. Having an example is the best way to learn. That is why little children love to imitate everything they see us doing.

The Word Works In Who Believes

“For this reason we also constantly thank God that when you received the word of God which you heard from us, you accepted it not as the word of men, but for what it really is, the word of God, which also performs its work in you who believe.” (1 Thessalonians 2:13, NAS)

In a recent message, Gary Hargrave used this scripture and what really stood out to me is that there are two things that need to happen when we hear a Word. First, we need to get over the barrier of receiving a Word through a human vessel, and second we also have to believe in that word for it to work in us.

Children in the Service

One of my main goals as a mother and Daniel’s wife is to teach my children to focus and participate during service and be a support to their dad as he is bringing the Word. It’s important to teach our kids to have reverence and respect in the house of the Lord, but they also have to enjoy themselves!
